The Begining

We all come from somewhere in this world. Most of us are from our loving mothers wombs.  Some we are not too sure about! lol

I have decided to start a blog.  Scary I know.  I recently turned 38 and the older I get the less I care what others think about me.  The important items in my life are family, friends and loved ones.  As long as I do my best to treat everyone with respect and dignity then I think I am doing alright.

There are many topics that will be discussed on this blog.  There will be Cattle, Cooking, Booze, Lifestyles and even Politics.  There will be many more as well and I encourage everyone to read the posts and reply even letting me know your thoughts and suggestions. I will be labeling the posts and eventually categorizing them so people can read what they want to read or skip over a post.  

 I am a believer in the theory that we can only expand our minds if we open them up to new ideas.  I do not like or agree with everything that many people say. This is MY BLOG!!! I will post things that are just funny and not true,I will also post items that are fact based and do my best to give you SOURCES where the facts can be checked.  For those that respond to factual posts. Please be prepared to back up your responses with factual information.  (Seems too logical I know!)

Through the blog I hope that everyone gets to know me and knows more about who I am as a person.  I also hope that we can start an honest debate in this country about items that really matter.

Word of caution!!! I will not hesitate to remove a post that contains foul language or is there to just insult me. Just as i respect your right to say anything you want, I also have a right to "turn the channel".  That would be me deleting your post and blocking you from my blog!!

     I started this post the other day and it was titled something else and decided to change it since people never cease to amaze me. I know a lot of people. Clean your Windshield

It’s that time of year where people will have the “new year, new me” phrase going strong. For many that will last about 2-3 weeks.  For others they will last well into mid-year. I am of the philosophy that you should make changes immediately in life. If you need to start eating healthier then go to the cupboard and fridge and throw out all unhealthy food. If you are going to stop drinking, throw out all your booze. (Rest a sure this will not happen in my house.) If you are going to start working harder on your livestock, turn off your phones and get to the barn. If you are going to sit back and re-evaluate your life while planning for new adventures, sit down and make a list. Every one of these goals requires you to clean your windshield to see what is ahead of you.  As we go down the highway of life we have a big broad windshield in front of us. What do you know about your Purebred Cattle?

     There has been a small discussion on one social media site about a certain Hereford Bull not testing 100% Hereford.  I am not going to go into depth on the who was right or wrong or what the truth is about that bull.  What I want to talk about is cattle being purebred anymore or do you know the true lineage of your cattle?  For years we have known that some animals were not 100% purebred.  When I was younger being purebred was a status that people took pride in with their herds.  Today I believe a lot of people still take pride in their purebred operations.      For years people have known that real money is made in commercial cattle.  The Purebred cattle industry was/is the upper echelon of cattle.  These are the cattle that people took to fairs to exhibit.  They took to their state fairs to see what prize they could obtain with their homegrown bulls and heifers.
