You are a special kind of stupid aren't you?

I started this post the other day and it was titled something else and decided to change it since people never cease to amaze me. I know a lot of people. They either worked with me, were one of my employees when I managed people, or friends and family.  I like to follow a wide variety of people on my twitter account.  I think it's important to get a well rounded idea of what people think and believe.      There are some horrific tragedies that have occurred in our country.   They are tragedies that we have seen in the past and will continue to see in the future.  We as Americans come together and support each other, we provide support, food, money, and a prayer.  All are important to the process of rebuilding their lives that have been destroyed.      Theordore Rosevelt was fond of the West African Proverb "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." Pretty good saying in my book. ...

All I want to be is DONE!

Music is something I have loved from a very young age.  My mother sang and played piano while my sister was always the rebel and taught me about rock and roll (when it was still good music).  Country music has been a favorite of me for years.      I also love to read. When I was younger I did not get into reading much, as I got older I found a passion for it and still love to read to this day. Usually 2-3 books at a time and  a variety of books as well.      Another passion I have developed over the years is a love of running.  (Don't laugh!!)  When I actually get to run or get on an elliptical and to work out it makes me feel so good.      Strange trio to talk about at once I know, however, there is a method to my madness!      All these items do something for me and a lot of people benefit. Stories are told, thoughts are processed, and minds are enlightened. ...

Mothers Day

Holidays are celebrated differently through out the world.  For instance Santa Clause has a different meaning in Holland then what it means in the U.S. Mothers Day is celebrated on a different day of the week in Holland, yet has the same basic meaning.  This is not to talk about Holland. This is to talk about mothers.      My mother was the type of person who would always cuddle and console you when you needed that attention.  She was also the type that would kick your ass when it needed it as well.  My mother grew up in the oil fields of Odessa, TX. My grandfather was a wildcatter and my mother and her brother grew up a good part of their childhood out west.  My mother had the pleasure of living in a few different places before settling with my father.  She graduated high school in Houston then spent a lot of time in Fort Worth and in Perryton, TX.      Mom was the type of person that could be knee dee...

Pieces to the Puzzle

I love puzzles. The ones where you have to put the pieces of a picture together all the way up to Sudoku's.  There is something about taking all these different pieces and being able to put them into a correct answer.        The older we get as humans, I believe we do get wiser. I think most people learn from their experiences and even mistakes.  Well, I hope I have learned A LOT!! The one thing I do know is the older I get the more I want to call Bull Shit when I see or hear certain peoples opinions.  Something else I have found is I can do the puzzles a lot faster and love a good challenge.       I think the modern media is a huge puzzle. The problem is only a few of the pieces are those strange irregular shapes that do not fit anywhere.  The rest of the entire outline of the picture or all the 1's for my Sudoku fans who play on their smart phones. (You get the least points for the 1's it seems). ...

Hypocrisy

Webster dictionary defines hypocrisy as " a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not;  especially   :  the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion".  Now we all know that it boils down to people saying one thing and doing another. This is a pretty clear definition of the word and should not be confused by anyone. The problem is, a lot of people tend to be blind to the hypocrisy around them all the time.        Part of being an adult and taking responsibility should be the law of the land. If I don't pay my taxes, or a fine or a bill. Bad things can and usually happen. I am a big believer in do onto others as you would have them do onto you.  Something about the golden rule in there and normally works great!       We see hypocrisy in every part of our lives. The problem is most of us do not take the time to take  step back and analyse what is being ...

Hero's

For as long as I can remember. People have always talked about hero's. Those they looked up too and admired.  Normally these people made a difference in the world, for the better or made a difference in their own life.      When I was a young kid, I was extremely shy and did not hardly talk. (Stop laughing and continue to read, its true!) I mainly would watch and listen. What happened is that I learned a lot from being silent. I learned from my parents, and their friends. I learned from those around me.  I always thought a hero was someone you knew. It never occurred to me that it could be someone I didn't know.      As a nation, we have a lot of hero's.  They are the men and women that serve in our armed forces. For nearly 300 years, people have been willing to come together and fight for what they believe this country.  They know that there is evil out there and they want to do harm to our way of life.   ...
