Time and a place for everything.

There are a lot of people that speak their minds whenever they want! They do it morning noon and night and honestly have no regard for what others think about them or what they say.  This is not such a bad thing for the most part.

I was raised to believe that there is a time and a place for everything.  There is a time when you are free to speak your mind and say what you want about a situation.  I believe a person who really cares for others to hear their message will say it when the time is right.

For the most part i am a laid back fella and get along with many people.  I can put up with a lot actually and I believe my years of management and working with people help a lot with that trait.  I actually love people, I love to hear about where they came from, who they are and so forth. There is a time and place for everything.

When people are working and its a job where people are focused on working I believe its important to leave them alone. When people are at a bar having a drink, i believe its a time to mingle and chat.  I also believe that when a person does something or says something that is not right or offends you, i believe you need to say something to them at that time.  Timing is everything!

It always amazes me when people open do or say things, solely for the purpose of drawing attention to themselves and their situation. (I know as I sit here writing a blog to post online! lol)  There are a lot of things that happen or have happened to me that I honestly do not want everyone to know about! lol That's the part of me that keeps things to myself. lol

I guess the one thing that I want to get across is that I wished more people in this world waited for the right time and place to say something, or make a point. I believe that if the do that, the response and outlook of their life.

Remember, there is a time and a place for everything!

Clean your Windshield

It’s that time of year where people will have the “new year, new me” phrase going strong. For many that will last about 2-3 weeks.  For others they will last well into mid-year. I am of the philosophy that you should make changes immediately in life. If you need to start eating healthier then go to the cupboard and fridge and throw out all unhealthy food. If you are going to stop drinking, throw out all your booze. (Rest a sure this will not happen in my house.) If you are going to start working harder on your livestock, turn off your phones and get to the barn. If you are going to sit back and re-evaluate your life while planning for new adventures, sit down and make a list. Every one of these goals requires you to clean your windshield to see what is ahead of you.  As we go down the highway of life we have a big broad windshield in front of us. What do you know about your Purebred Cattle?

     There has been a small discussion on one social media site about a certain Hereford Bull not testing 100% Hereford.  I am not going to go into depth on the who was right or wrong or what the truth is about that bull.  What I want to talk about is cattle being purebred anymore or do you know the true lineage of your cattle?  For years we have known that some animals were not 100% purebred.  When I was younger being purebred was a status that people took pride in with their herds.  Today I believe a lot of people still take pride in their purebred operations.      For years people have known that real money is made in commercial cattle.  The Purebred cattle industry was/is the upper echelon of cattle.  These are the cattle that people took to fairs to exhibit.  They took to their state fairs to see what prize they could obtain with their homegrown bulls and heifers.
