At no point should anyone be ashamed of who they are in life. Whether you are white, black, brown, purple, gay or lesbian, there is room on this earth for everyone to live. There is even room for everyone to live in peace.
Since the beginning of recorded history. Some people have had a different taste in their personal life. They didn’t take a liking to traditional relationships. There is nothing wrong with this as long as you are consenting adults behind closed doors. People have also had a different taste in political ideas, how to raise a family, and what foods to eat.
The problem we run into in today’s society is we have to make each group special. They have to stand out and have tons of publicity. Publicity is not the problem, it’s those seeking the limelight and those who will do anything to get fame that are the problem. The problem is corporations saying they support all these groups. Yet, they do nothing to really help.
Former President Trump elected the first openly gay cabinet member. Yet, he was called a homophobe. He is from New York where you arguably have the most diverse population in the world. No one can point to acts or anything he has said that were against the alphabet gang aka people in the woke LGBTQ community.
The media routinely portrays people they do not like in a negative light. They are proud to celebrate 15 groups that exclude their own members if they do not vote in step with everyone else. These groups will make up stories, lie, cheat, and do anything they can to make sure their narrative is the only one heard.
Per a simple Google search (which I’m sure is scientifically accurate) there are more LGBTQ people than farmers or ranchers. The problem is many of the alphabet gang just say they are a member. Some don’t, won’t, or haven’t practiced what they preach. Which is unity, love not hate, and individualism.
You see, if you don’t vote in step with the group, you are against the group. That is the message put out in 2020. That has to be the most absurd argument that exists. It means that as an individual, you cannot think, rationalize, and vote your mind. We don’t vote for single issues. If you do, you end up with the current mess we have in D.C. You vote on collective ideas. Which person puts together the best rational solutions to problems? That is the way it should be done.
If you decide to target Christian groups and businesses, you are a hero. When you sue the baker who won’t make you a cake with specifically what you want on it, the baker will sell you a cake, just not what you want on that cake. Forget about supporting your own groups' businesses. Forget about the freedom of choice that you preach about. Forget about the right to refuse service - as some people said they would to Trump supporters. That street only runs one way I guess.
This is also a time when corporations love to praise groups and show their support. LGBTQ people are actually oppressed in certain countries. Those same corporations flying pride flags in the United States don’t fly that flag in countries where real oppression occurs. Strange how those countries who throw LGBTQ from roofs, are hanged, executed, and persecuted, are not getting that support for your way of life. The most sickening is seeing you the idiots hash tag free Palestinian when Isreal has the only pride parade in the middle east.
At the end of the day it’s about money, power, and publicity. Whoever can waive their flag the highest, scream the loudest, will get the most news coverage. Not the farmers and ranchers suffering from drought in the west. Not the livestock producers being demonized by groups for grazing public lands and managing their livestock. Wild horse enthusiasts think the horses should roam anywhere without any sort of management. That’s not working out well for the wolves the government and groups introduced back into the wild. It’s not going well for the horses either.
It’s no longer a shock when someone comes out as a member of the alphabet gang. Most people are like, okay, love you anyway, let me know when the wedding is and if there is an open bar. The problem is, just like with everything else, it’s never enough. More control, only hire certain groups of people. Forget being qualified for the job. If you check the box on the group the news claims is oppressed, you are hired.
Most people want to just go through each day and live their life. They want to see their friends, work a good job, make a good living, and not hang their hat on their group classification by society. When we continually put people in special groups, we start to lose our individualism. That is why farmers, ranchers, and agriculture people cover the gauntlet. You have the purple haired vegans in Colorado growing their cannabis and then the 5th generation cattle producer in Texas. It takes everyone to make it work.
No one should have to wave a flag for who they are if they don’t want to. Someone is not a bad person because you said they voted against you. Your longtime friends still love you, no matter what stupid beliefs you hold in life. They just don’t have to publicly walk in a parade or wave their flag to show it. They do, hopefully, wish you a Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, or congratulations on your marriage.
It is time we stop giving awards to people for their bravery of speaking out for who they identify as or go to bed with, and start giving awards for those who start their own business. For the people that pulled themselves out of poverty to be a success. It is time we reward people for their accomplishments in life and not their stance on positions.
You are not a good person because you fly a certain flag. You are a good person when you do good by others. You help people in your community, you go halfway across the globe to help underdeveloped nations and free people that are really oppressed. Remember pride month is not for everyone. And it shouldn’t have to be either.
There is room for everyone to live here on earth in peace. We don’t have to demagogue groups of people, try to destroy businesses we do not like or groups of people that we disagree with on ideas.
“Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst, and cold.” - Thomas Jefferson
