You Lost Your Voice

There are many times we lose our voice. Could be from laryngitis, bad cough, strep throat, or a number of other ailments. For some they don’t talk enough to keep their voice crisp and vibrant. It takes practice to have a good speaking voice using inflection and annunciation correctly.

In life we sometimes feel like we lose our voice at work, in conversations, maybe even with friends and family.  It’s almost like you are not there or worse, your opinion doesn’t matter. Silencing the voices of others is not only wrong, it can be detrimental to people’s health. I actually know some people so sarcastic; they might explode if they don’t let it out. That would be a big mess to clean up.

Then there are people who never say anything. They keep to themselves, only speak positive words, and for the most part keep their opinions to themselves. These people can lose their voice because evidently if you are silent, you agree with everyone else who is speaking louder. Simply not true. There are times that many people should want certain individuals to stay silent and not speak.

In recent years, it appears whoever screams the loudest gets the most. Doesn’t matter if they are screaming falsehoods, or even have a clue what they are saying. For anyone that says anything different from the mob, their voice is lost. They were and still are shouted down, called names, and demonized. You are taking people's voices away because they don’t think the same way as you. That is what the Nazi’s did in Germany. Every totalitarian in history silenced those whose voice differs from that of the group.

At the beginning of the pandemic many educated professionals talked about herd immunity, masks, and how it all affects people.  Those people’s voices were silenced by social media, they were silenced by people screaming louder, they were told they want to kill others, and those people lost their voice.

Now people are magically talking about herd immunity like it’s all of the sudden real, they are talking about how only fitted respirators are the only thing to really protect from the virus. Many people talked about how the country should not be shut down. Tent hospitals were set up to handle the overflow. Hardly any of them were used. New York City beds sat empty as the governor put sick people in nursing homes. Pennsylvania did the same and now their secretary of health is being confirmed for a cabinet position.

People said, open everything up in March of 2020, let it work through now. Those people’s voices were silenced and they lost their voice. We are 1 year later and the same people are screaming it's too soon to open Texas. We are 2 weeks too early. They are saying it’s not time. NONE of these people care that they are once again silencing others that disagree with them and all the while will call you Nazi, grandma killers, and only thinking of themselves instead of the greater good.

Most of the people who are silencing others are doing it because they feel morally obligated to do it. They feel like this is what is right, you are wrong and cannot be allowed to voice your opinion. The news has promoted this all-last year. They are still claiming dissenting voices must not be allowed to be heard. They must lose their voice. You can never hear a different opinion.

We need to stop silencing others. Stop forcing people to lose their voice. Once you lose your voice, you start wanting to express yourself in other ways. This is one of the biggest problems with the lockdowns. Suicide, overdose, and alcoholism is up anywhere from 20-90%. People are not dying from the virus, they are dying from loneliness and being shut out of a normal life.

It’s beyond past time to open up this country, it should have never been shut down. You need to stop silencing others' voices. Remember, if you lose your voice, you can take your voice back too.

"You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left."
