According to merriam-webster the meaning of ignorance is as follows: the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness.
Well I think this sums up most of Washington, some companies, a lot of bosses, and at times myself. I also think it sums up people who believe, left or right, straight or gay, young or old, that if you just turn your head away from a problem. Then the problem goes away. In a word, NO! We all have to sit and face our consequences.
I am always amazed at how different the posts on peoples websites, facebook, and tweets change. When POTUS does something right, they are all Hail to the Cheif. When there is OBVIOUS flaws or something wrong, they either, scrutinize each little detail, or the other side posts items like, or look here, the rich are bad! Romney has a lot of money! All I can do is shack my head.
If we as a nation do not start looking at the truth of topics and start really saying what is going on. Then we as a nation will all end up down a road we do not want to be in the future. I do not care if you are liberal or conservative. It is a child's answer to respond with, I don't know it wasn't me. It's also a child's answer to say, well Bobby Joe did this, why isn't he/she in trouble? That is deflecting the blame and a topic for another blog.
At no time do I expect or ask that everyone know everything about every situation. Although its a little like working for a company where those just 2 positions above you have no clue how to do your job. I would never expect my boss' supervisor to know how to do my job as well as me. They have other priorities. Yet when I as the employee have to explain a report that belongs to my boss' supervisor. Then that is ignorance. It is also unacceptable in my book.
This same principle applies to POTUS, D.C. and all politicians. At the end of the day it is your job to know. You can not claim ignorance and just go on about life. We as American's should hold each and everyone of you accountable.
For me it also applies to those I work for or who are my superiors. I have a short fuse when it comes to ignorance in the work place, or those that do not even try to improve. I consider it a waste of my time and time of the company. If you kick a can down the road for an hour a day. Do you know what you have lost? You have lost an hour of your day and an hour of work that you could have done something besides, kick that can.
