Can I buy you a Clue?!

I will be the first to admit that there are plenty of times when I do something or say something and I sound like a complete idiot.  This is a gift that god has blessed us all with at some point in time.

This last weekend Dad and I went to see family and some good friends. It's always great to get away for a relaxing weekend.  The one downside is I tend to not read a paper or check twitter or news stations.  This allows me to really clear my mind and not worry or think about too much while relaxing.

Monday's can be a drastic day for everyone if we allow it to be and give that power to others.  As I got home from a decent Monday I started really watching the news and catching up on the events over the last few days.  Lets sum items from recent stories over the last month that stand out to me.

  • A man killed a young man that was beating his head against the pavement went free, found not guilty. A community is outraged and scream discrimination and racism.  News outlets cover the footage so much they drove viewers away.

  • Then 3 young boys nearly beat another boy to death. The boy that was beaten told on the other boys for trying to sell drugs and did the right thing to come forward.  News outlets barely cover the story and nothing is said from the 3 boys community.

  • A cook is found no discrimination by a judge in a recent verdict.  In my opinion they should be given back everything that was taken away for something said years ago.  Not much coverage from news outlets either and apologies should be given to her publicly.

  • A 14 year old boy is out at 3 AM shooting people with a gun.  Police come up on him and the boy ends up dead.  People are saying the police should not be killing their children.  News outlets cover the story.  The question should be why was a 14 year old boy out with a gun shooting people in the late night?

  • I won't even start on the items that have been uncovered about the idiots we have in D.C. and running the IRS.  Those are self explanatory.

My point in all this rambling is, when will people start to wake up and realize that we can not just automatically claim its the other persons fault. We can not say, its race or discrimination, we have to ask why.

If people will take race or color of skin out of all situations. Look at the facts of what happened, we tend to see things in a different light.  Do people do things because of race differences, well yeah.  The kicker to that though is when you take the race out of even those situations.  The person who did wrong is still doing something wrong!!  You do not justify or act in a illegal manner in response to someone doing the same to you.

I guess what I want to say is people need to get a clue. If we taught proper morals and teach our kids right from wrong, we might see a difference in our country.  People need to also learn to punish their kids. Say No, spank their butts, and punish them for doing something wrong.

The answers do not lie in the government or organizations giving you everything under the sun.  It's about you standing on your own two feet and doing whats right.  It's about following the basic rules of life.  What we should be doing is asking more questions of those who only take and do not give.  We should be looking to take back this country.  There are plenty of single mothers out there who work 40+ hours a week and manage to raise good children that have good morals and know the difference in right or wrong.

What I want to say is, people, can I buy you a clue? When are you going to stop worshiping political figures like they are gods. When are you going to start realizing there is a higher power in this world and it does not live in D.C.  The facts show that less government involvement is better for us all.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

You are a special kind of stupid aren't you?

I started this post the other day and it was titled something else and decided to change it since people never cease to amaze me. I know a lot of people. They either worked with me, were one of my employees when I managed people, or friends and family.  I like to follow a wide variety of people on my twitter account.  I think it's important to get a well rounded idea of what people think and believe.      There are some horrific tragedies that have occurred in our country.   They are tragedies that we have seen in the past and will continue to see in the future.  We as Americans come together and support each other, we provide support, food, money, and a prayer.  All are important to the process of rebuilding their lives that have been destroyed.      Theordore Rosevelt was fond of the West African Proverb "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." Pretty good saying in my book. ...

Clean your Windshield

It’s that time of year where people will have the “new year, new me” phrase going strong. For many that will last about 2-3 weeks.  For others they will last well into mid-year. I am of the philosophy that you should make changes immediately in life. If you need to start eating healthier then go to the cupboard and fridge and throw out all unhealthy food. If you are going to stop drinking, throw out all your booze. (Rest a sure this will not happen in my house.) If you are going to start working harder on your livestock, turn off your phones and get to the barn. If you are going to sit back and re-evaluate your life while planning for new adventures, sit down and make a list. Every one of these goals requires you to clean your windshield to see what is ahead of you.  As we go down the highway of life we have a big broad windshield in front of us. We can see great distances and have great hopes of what I'd to come in our lives. In-order to see down that road, you must clea...

It is Just a Show

In the beginning I was not a watcher or a fan. There was a lot of talk. Chatter online. Then I decided to tune and check out all the hype. There is cattle, ranching, horses, politics, drama, and suspense. This show was a creation from the mind of a very creative horse jockey. The story is well written, the acting is superb, and the raw attitude is what brings people back each week. This show hits an audience that is hungry for real talk, real action, and real results. The bad part is it is all fiction.  The show is full of wrong information. Actions that make no sense. Calves do not jump up and start running immediately after being born. Most cattle ranches don’t take their hands and shoot them off a cliff if their employment has ended. They don’t brand their workers for show of loyalty. The good news is it is all fiction.  The characters in the show are people you either love or hate. They are characters that bring a lot of talent to the show. These people come from ma...
