For as long as I can remember. People have always talked about hero's. Those they looked up too and admired. Normally these people made a difference in the world, for the better or made a difference in their own life.
When I was a young kid, I was extremely shy and did not hardly talk. (Stop laughing and continue to read, its true!) I mainly would watch and listen. What happened is that I learned a lot from being silent. I learned from my parents, and their friends. I learned from those around me. I always thought a hero was someone you knew. It never occurred to me that it could be someone I didn't know.
As a nation, we have a lot of hero's. They are the men and women that serve in our armed forces. For nearly 300 years, people have been willing to come together and fight for what they believe this country. They know that there is evil out there and they want to do harm to our way of life.
People came to this country for a better life free from persecution. Whether persecution was religious or other, it is wrong to condemn a person for what they believe or say. This is a two way street for my liberal readers. It is wrong for people to try and force Christians to take down their crosses and not wear their supportive shirts.
Lets be clear about all this politically correct business. It has been a waste of time and money. Study after study show that it has not had the positive affect that was originally believed. Diversity is a topic that is pointless and does nothing to improve way of life. Two kids playing in the park are in the sand box and having a good time know now difference in the color of skin or religion. That is until someone tells them that there is a difference and you can not talk to them in a certain way or say certain phrases.
Now, what does all this have to do with hero's? Extremists in many facets of this world want to do harm to the United States. They wants to destroy our freedoms and destroy the words that our founding fathers so intelligently put forth in our constitution and bill of rights. These are people from inside and outside our country. They come in many forms and fashions.
My hero's defend what they believe not only for just for themselves, but also for the greater good of the country. They want to protect and uphold our constitution. They want to protect our religious freedoms. My hero's do not want to change this country. POTUS in his first acceptance speeches stated, "We live in a great nation, but we have to change that nation." That is not a hero. That is an ideological theory of a person who believes they are smarter then everyone. We don't need to change our country. We need to bring it back to basics. Family, God, and morals.
According to The World Factbook atheists were an estimated 2.01% of the world population in 2010. That means that 97%+ believe in a god or higher power of some kind. I have to show my ID for many daily tasks that we take for granted. Yet, its wrong to make people do it when they take on such a patriotic duty as vote? Atheists believe that we should remove all forms of god from our government and schools. When right now we need more of him.
Hero's are not people that take rights away, or change the world to fit the ideas of a few. Hero's protect all men, women and children no matter what they believe because it is the right action. Hero's do not take away from others just to give others a chance. Hero's teach those that are not succeeding how to succeed.
If you want to know who my hero's are in my life its simple. I of course whole heartily support our troops who defend our country and the rights of all people. Then my hero's were my Sister, my Mother and my Father. People who had a profound affect on my life and truly helped in shaping me into the person I am today. For others your hero can be people who are famous, rich, or have certain abilities. I ask everyone to sit back and think why are they your hero? Did they teach you many valuable lessons, or just one or two. Did they teach you to be a better person or to change the world.
Thomas Jefferson said, "Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you."
