Apologizing is one of the hardest things to do in life. Our egos make it difficult to admit fault. There is nothing wrong with admitting you made a mistake or said something that wasn’t true. It has happened to all of us and we are better off when we can admit it. Then move on with life.
Pride is a stubborn attribute and one of the biggest blockers to apologies. It should not be in the way. Your pride should tell you, admit you were wrong and move on. It doesn’t. It wants to protect what your mind thinks is your image to others. This is one reason we should not care what others think.
After 9/11 our government voted to invaded Afghanistan to go after the jihadist. A couple of years later they went after Iraq leader Saddam Hussein and the weapons of mass destruction. This had huge support from many people, both republicans and democrats. We are still in Afghanistan fighting and there were no weapons of mass destruction. What there was in Saddam's house was torture rooms where people were brought to be beaten and killed for not following the dictators’ orders. Our government owes us an apology for sending us into a war that has lasted 2 decades. That won’t happen.
Fast forward to today. Our government is once again pushing propaganda and lying to the people. This time it’s worse. They have common everyday people turning on each other. In the beginning of the pandemic many warned against locking down the country, forcing everyone to stay home and wear masks.
The lockdowns harmed or killed more people than the virus. Suicide rates increased, overdoses increased, depression grew, and our children are suffering. The people that screamed in the beginning to just wear a mask are many of the ones now screaming just get the vaccine. Hypocritical AOC was seen at a soccer game sitting with people mask less.
Multiple studies have shown what many said in the beginning, masks don’t work. Why? Because if a medical mask cannot keep the particles from a forest fire out of your mouth and nose, then it cannot protect against an even smaller virus particle. That is science. Many people understood that in the beginning, yet the virtuous ones claimed we just wanted to kill grandma. The latest study done shows their ineffectiveness. We won’t hold our breath for your apology.
We have a vaccine for the virus you have a 98% survival rate if you do nothing. Before you start telling me how horrible it is to have it, I will remind you, watching someone die of a stroke or watching someone suffer through cancer and then death, is worse. Many of you have “thanked those who made it possible for the vaccine.” You are hypocrites because you are taking the vaccines that the former president made possible. You have all the dosages due to the process that was implemented early on. Since you think Orange Man Bad, you don’t have the guts to say, ‘Thank you’. to him. You are too good for that and you know what, you are a hypocrite for it. We know you won’t apologize.
Many in the beginning talked about fresh air and getting outside. Turns out that is probably some of the best medicine to fight this virus. You allowed people to be locked in nursing homes, no access to beaches, parks, or playgrounds. Kids and families were isolated from each other preventing human interaction we all need. Many of you spent a year not even hugging your loved ones because you were scared. Someone told you, or your Google medical degree, said you cannot hug your grandchild or parents. That is just cruel. I would rather die the next day after a hug, then die alone, not ever feeling that embrace. You are a hypocrite if you told someone you just want people to die. You are not following science. You are following propaganda and feeling virtuous because the government approves of it? Screw the government and screw your hypocrisy for it all.
On January 6th, people were gathered to hear the president speak at the capitol. Most news organizations and officials at the capitol claimed that people stormed the building and it was an insurrection. Most of you didn’t even know the meaning of the word. Those that said it wasn’t were called out as domestic terrorists.
The police officer that died, was not beaten. This is something that many knew after the fact due to eye witnesses and video. That officer suffered 2 strokes and died of natural causes. But, ‘Orange Man Bad’, so it's probably best you try to impeach him a second time. No Trump supporters killed or harmed another person. Capitol police did shoot an unarmed protesters for no apparent reason.
Members of Congress have been calling for violence and unrest in the streets for years. You claim this is not violent rhetoric yet it’s all about mob rule. You claimed peaceful protests this summer and cities, police stations, and government facilities burned. The vice president supported bailing out these criminals. This is the definition of hypocrisy. Yet many of you voted to put those people in power. You are hypocrites. We won’t hold our breath for an apology.
There were no weapons of mass destruction even though it did allow the removal of an evil dictator that tortured its citizens. There was never any science behind wearing a mask. The technology behind the masks was not for virus prevention. You have to have a full respirator that is fitted for that to work. There was never any science behind the lockdowns. People suffered and are still suffering today. There was no science behind shutting down parks, beaches, or gyms - where people go to get healthy. The protests last year were not peaceful. Our government officials cheered on the destruction and to take away your right to protect yourself. We won’t hold our breath for an apology to your hypocrisy.
The funny thing about all this, most people won’t read this entire article. Their egos won’t allow it. They are sure that ‘Orange Man is Bad’, the protests were good for the country, isolation saved lives, masked works, the vaccine will bring us back up to a new normal, people didn’t die of drug overdoses, and the police are horrible people.
Every story in life has two sides. There can be truth on both sides of that story. It is only when people come to the table and meet on common ground can anything be accomplished. Drop the ego, apologize when needed, and work to not be a hypocrite in your life.
In his book Shooting an Elephant, George Orwell wrote, “He wears a mask, and his face grows to fit it.”
