It has been a long time coming for this blog post. I know that I have not posted one in many months. I have had people ask when the next one will turn up. There have been many started that did not turn out the way I would have liked. So they are still in draft mode.
2016 is turning out to be a historic year. We have a presidential election like no other. Events have happened in our country that changed the dynamic of our society and everyday life. Even personally I am doing actions on a daily basis that I would have never dreamed of doing one year ago. This post may be a little lengthy, I hope it is worth the read.
For the last year there have been two people dominate the news cycle and they continue to do so today. Those two people are Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The two nominees for the POTUS. The first thing I will say is I don't give a rats ass if you like either one of these people. If you do not get out and vote for at least one of them you have done more harm then good to your country. May even border line treason.
Donald Trump is a billionaire real estate tycoon. He borrowed money from his father and turned it into a fortune 10 times over. He has hosted a very popular TV Show and have been married 3 times. He has 4 children, which by all accounts he loves very much. The 3 oldest WORK for different companies of his or own their own company. He is a loud mouth business man who gets what he wants. He pops off about topics that seem controversial to some and pure genius to others.
Hillary Clinton or as I like to refer to her, Monica Lewinsky's Ex-Boyfriend's Wife, is the other nominee. She is an attorney by trade. She worked on the Nixon investigation when he was being impeached. She was also fired from that job as well. She is married to former POTUS Bill Slick Willy Clinton. This is an actual term coined back in 1996 about Bill Clinton. She is also former Secretary of State and a former Senator from NY. She has one child Chelsea who graduated from College and went to work as a "Consultant" for a major news organization. Chelsea is married to an investment banker and co-founder of a hedge fund in NY.
I know these might seem a little slanted in some peoples minds. These are the facts. They are all document-able and can look good or bad depending of the shade of your rose colored glasses.
In the last year the U.S. has had 2 documented terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. The attack on San Bernardino and Orlando. It has already been shown and proven that in the case of San Bernardino neighbors and even friends saw suspicious behavior. They felt like it would be profiling or racist to report it since they were Muslim. The Orlando attack was at a popular night club in Orlando, Florida. The attacker scooped out the club, visited with patrons and planned this attack with much fore thought.
Both of these shootings occurred in Gun Free Zones. The attacks were planned, organized and prepared. These attacks killed innocent lives and destroyed countless others. Both of these attacks could have been prevented with just a mention of something to authorities or just a little more oversight. The Boston Bombing attacked occurred with items that can be bought in any home appliance store. This was still a gun free Zone with the exception of Police on hand.
Over the last number of years news organizations, politicians, preachers, educators, and even everyday men and women have prayed for equal rights of something or someone. We have been inundated with pressure to accept everyone and not speak our minds about people. We will be labeled a bully or a racist.
Last year we saw the "historic" transformation of Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner. Keep in mind they then received the women of the year award for being so courageous. Bringing the fight for the Transgender people to the fore front. This is a community that is about .3% of the adult population or somewhere around 700,000 people. Also you might look up on the real story. How much money did Jenner get for all this and if he/she still has the "equipment" they once did before the transformation.
There are approximately 2.75 million Muslims in the United states. That is roughly .9% of the population. These are stats that were pulled from reliable sources on the internet from different organizations.
I am going to be VERY VERY frank about these 2 statistics. They do not get to dictate what I or any other American gets to do or say. I am not saying we go out and shoot them all or harm anyone. What I am saying is if their feelings are hurt or offended because they cannot pee in the right toilet. We are pretty messed up as a Country. NO BODY CARES WHERE YOU DROP A DEUCE OR PEE!!!! This also means that if you are Muslim or Red Neck and I see you doing something that does not seem right, I will call the police.
At any given time there are roughly 1.4 million men and women serving in our military. That is about .4% of the population. There are currently 19.2 million veterans in the U.S. which accounts for about 7.9% of the population. These are men and women that worked or have worked every day to protect our liberties. They put their life on the line for our freedoms and many gave the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation.
In the U.S. there is roughly $13K per year, per student spent on education in the united states. There is a total of $621 billion dollars spent each year. That number is about 60 times more than the net worth of Donald Trump.
Agriculture and agriculture related industries contribute $835 billion to the GDP (gross domestic product) or about 4.8%. This is a large chunk of the success of America based on our farmers and ranchers and the companies they deal with on a daily basis.
In Washington DC when you are elected to House or the Senate. You automatically get a pension for life. You can work just 6 months or so and you are set. You can go back to your small town in whatever state you are from and live very comfortably. You normally get annual raises that you vote on for yourself. You also get healthcare for you and your family.
SO, now that you are all bored with numbers and statistics what does all this mean to everyday Americans. Why are these numbers so important and why are they items that SHOULD be topics for the election? They are topics that mold and define our country. There are items that are tied directly to each of these events and decisions made that affect everyday people.
There is one item that drives the cost of all this and it is something that can be changed. This is all tied to your federal government. This is tied to Red Tape and government needing their hands in everything we do as Americans. They need their hands OUT of our pockets and out of our programs. The U.S. Senate and Congress need to be revamped and Lobbyist outlawed. I don't think I have mentioned the LOBBYIST. They all need to grow up and get a real Job. Both the House and Senate need term limits and Lobbyist need to be banished from this country.
We spend a lot of money on education. The problem is it does not always reach the kids correctly or enough of the money does not reach the kids. It gets tied up in other aspects that are not allowing it to reach the end point.
The Election is also key in all of this mess we call our Government. On one side you have a candidate who has used all the loop holes and ins/outs of the government to help grow a multi-billion dollar corporation. You have another candidate that has spent all their adult life part of government and has all sorts of family ties to the "big banks" and "corrupt wall street". They claim they want whats best for the everyday American. I think one of the people running for President respects everyday people because without them they would not be able to run their business or hotels. The other has only ever ran for office or their "foundation" which makes Millions of dollars. Most of which seems to find its way back into their bank accounts.
We have MILLIONS of people who are working in jobs below their skill level or pay grade and millions more not even looking for work. You can successfully sue a baker for not baking a cake for your wedding due to their religious beliefs and in the same breath state that it's not the religion that is the issue with Muslims Extremist. This is a HUGE PROBLEM in our way of thinking. The question should come up as to why the world has started thinking this way.
It all started a long time ago when equality started coming to be the anthem for groups of people. We needed to have a civil rights bill that gave rights to all individuals like we did in the 60s. What we did not need is a welfare system that turned people into slaves of the government. They are dependent for their existence from the government. The government said people need help and there are plenty of times when they do need it. They also need to learn a skill or trade and make a living.
We live in a country that wants to do away with shop class, we no longer even have home economics, and you can take anything to get our of athletics or gym class. There are certain principles and ideas that come from all of these educational endeavors that people stick with for the rest of their lives. That is why people in agriculture tend to be very successful in many areas.
The America we live in today has created a fear of guns and a fear of police. We should all be toting a gun and loving our military and men and women in uniform. If more people stood up for what is actually right and not for what others want, we might see a different outlook for our country.
When you start looking at all these different areas of our country and how things have changed. It can all stem back to someones rights. Each group believes their rights trumps all others. We have a government that has been more than happy to oblige and give into those "rights". Our basic rights as Americans come from the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. At no point does it say that the .3% of the population dictate what we do as a country.
There are a lot of factors to consider when going into November for the election. We have lived for centuries in this country defending our freedoms. Countless men, women and even children have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. We have seen Presidents assassinated, innocent people go to jail and guilty people walk free. We are entitled to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Those are the items that we are entitled too. If you keep it simple you will understand that everything else is not relevant.
For many years there has been a systematic change in America. It did not start with the current POTUS. It has been going on for years. We use to teach gun safety in school. Now we just fear them in schools. We use to teach people skills. Now we just stare at our electronic devices. Remember all this when you go to the polls in November. I believe we can make this an even Better Country. It will take some change and work.
"A wise and frugal government... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
