It has been a while since I have had a post. I always want to write about topics that mean something to me or I feel passionate about. The title of this article is pointed, it covers a lot of areas though so I hope you enjoy.
You might be asking yourself, why is it time to grow up? This is not talking to people who are young at heart, or those that have a youthful personality. People who want to continually enjoy life, are most of the time the people that have their house in order.
The world we live in is a 24/7 environment. We are accustom to getting information, products, answers and even make contact with people at any time. Points of view from people are more prevalent in the world then at any time in the past. Everyone knows what everyone is thinking all the time. (Well those that are on social media.)
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

I think this is a pretty good piece of advice that MORE people should keep in mind. Everyone wants to start screaming about how what someone said about them or something that they feel is offensive. It's a little ironic that many people scream when others say something they believe offensive, are the ones that normally tend to put others down for their beliefs. When you call someone names for what they are saying, you are no better then that person or group. It goes to lowering your standards and stooping to their level.
Since we are at the beginning of a new year, a lot of people are making new resolutions to do more, be better and blah, blah blah. I am not one to make new years resolutions. I honestly try to change or do better all the time. I am not perfect, nor ever claim to be without fault. It is human to error, but divine to forgive? I believe is how the saying goes. For the new year I always look at it as a time to let go of everything that happened in the last year. To make it a clean fresh start. It helps because my birthday is Jan 7th. So I get to have Christmas, New Years, a birthday and a fresh start. I think it also helps that my parents raised me to also learn to let things go.
With all this, I have a few questions to ask. Some of these I have an answer for, others I do not. I will give my opinion on each. I hope it will allow people to think about some things and do something I want everyone to do, take a moment, take a step back and look at the bigger picture of life.
Q: Why would we not allow the government control the healthcare system?
A: This is just a ridiculous question at all. The government can not run anything except into the ground.
Q: Why is it okay for people to use profanity and say evil statements about people they do not even know?
A: It's not. Items I have personally read online on FB and twitter include wishing high school football teams ill will when playing games. Death threats to public figures who people do not even know. Hoping that people die when they are already sick and in the hospital. These are all a reflection of our society and a loss of moral base.
Q: At what point does it become the responsibility of others, to make sure you have money, a house and clothes of your back?
A: The only time people should get assistance, is when it's needed, i.e. homeless. It is a statistical fact that people making $50,000 a year or more, give more then 2/3 of all charitable donations.
Q: When did equality become the only way for people to be happy?
A: Look at when President Johnson enacted the welfare act. It was set up to help those less fortunate. This is a great idea in theory. The problem is it has not helped. We still have people on welfare. There are less people working in the country than getting assistance. Not a good statistics.
And finally,
Q: In the grander scheme of life what difference does it make who marries who in this society?
A: For the most part none. The problem I have with homosexuals wanting to get married is that this is a group that has spend years trying to set themselves apart as special, unique and unlike no other. Now when it comes down to it, they want to be just like heterosexuals. Plus it will open doors for other small secular groups to allow to get married, i.e. multiple wives and husbands. It also diminishes what the original intent of marriage is intended to be, which does have religious in nature from many centuries past. There are many other ways that are acceptable by society for partners and unions to take place. Compromise is not in some groups vocabulary.
As normal, I do not expect or even want everyone to agree with my blogs. This is suppose to be an expression of ideas and hopefully open dialogue for many. There are many problems with our society, morals are lacks or missing all together. People feel entitled to more then they deserve or have even worked for in their life. On the flip side, there are still large groups of people that still believe in this country. There are farmers and ranchers that provide food for people and will continue to do so without bias. (They have for years.) There are people that care for the elderly and needy, those that really need our assistance.
So as we all start a new year and want to make the best of it all remember these words of advice. When you think you are speaking out and always taking the high road, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
It is time to grow up now, and realize that you are the driver of your own happiness. It is not the responsibility of others to see you be happy, healthy or even successful. This is not the role of the government either. You are the ones that say hurtful statements, or keep your mouth shut.
Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.
